If you haven;t checked out the itinerary, than I will inform you that all of the pictures on this post are from about 30-45 hours of no sleep, so be impressed haha. We left Nicosia at mindnight and then our plane left about three hours from Larnaca. Then we had a 5 hour layover in Munich at maybe 5am, then got into Berlin about noon. So, that is a solid 12 hours of travel time. The first city of the trip was Berlin. We went directly from the airport to a bus tour for several hours of the city. Most of these are pcitures from that. Overall I really liked Berlin! Everyone was feindly and there was a lot to do, however it was quite spread out so we had to take the tram everywhere.
The pink things are supplying the city with water and they are everywhere! I think they are kinda artsy =)
That my friends is the Berlin Wall
This is a really famous painting on th wall, it is of I think a Russian and some other leader/politician they were not a fan of
This is one of the Haulocost memorials. It is suppose to represent all the people who died-young, old, short, and tall which are represented in the different sizes and heights of the stones. Also note that much of these pictures are all famous buildings and places, but I was exhausted and don't remember most of it.
Checkpoint Charlie
After the bus tour, we walked down to the mall. The first day in Berlin was ICEY cold with whipping wind and knawing cold. I have never seen so many people. There was probably 3,000 people at the food court alone.
I think New England weather is following me! Yes, that is SNOW! I couldn't believe it! It was pretty but gives you an idea how cold it was-especially to walk 30 minutes back to the hotel and there were horrible wind tunnels and pockets.
The lounge bar had free wifi and was a nice place to settle for the night. It was nice because the other group members would walk by in pairs and groups and we would catch up and talk about the day, then most of them would join us. By the end of the night half the group was sitting around us-eating, on laptops, chatting, and just hanging out. It was great bonging time. Oh and the German beer was actually pretty good-especially considering I don't really like beer!
Great pictures Kaisha! I like that weird glass structure in the 17th pic and the art on the wall looks really cool (except the old guys tongue-kissing haha - gross!).
