These two pictures are the last of Delphi.
Welcome to Italy-the country of great food, friendly people, the Vatican, and the center of the Roman Empire. We toured several Italian cities, this first post is of Rome.
My first Italian pizza and gelati!
The Colosseum. This is where gladiators battled each other and animals for all of Rome's entertainment. I watched "Gladiator" for the first time on the plane ride to Rome, and it was really good but also helpful to have an idea of what this amazing building was used for.
Now, we are on our way to the Forum. This was once the center of Rome and is now a full array of ruins.
This is the Parliment building-there was a protest/riot going on around the horse statue in the middle. There seems to be lots of protests going on throughout Europe, because seeing this one seemed like no big deal.
This is the Pantheon. It is a massive church with a big hole in the roof and lots of amazing mosaics and statues.
Not only is this a pretty fountain, but they were shooting a movie! They rushed us past and told us no photos, but I took one anyway.
More amazing, beyond our imagination pix. Breath=taking, and the comments are wonderful.
