I haven't been on in a few days and have been told that 4 days is too long and my Mom starts worrying =p Since classes have started, my schedule is a lot busier and I haven't been doing as much. Also, the internet is horrible and it takes sometimes 5 minutes for a couple pics to load, so I will just upload pics in smaller groups because I don't have time to wait for them all to load. Anyway, I will say more about courses and such later..today we went to the old city again. I have a feeling we will go there often because it's fairly close and is so much fun! Today I got up early-ish and was ready to go by 10:30am. Unfortunately, it was sunshowers off and on all day, so it wasn't worth walking to the city in the rain. Waiting for public transportation is honestly one of the most annoying things so far. The busses come supposedly on a schedule, but seem to never arrive at the time they are suppose to. We waited for 20 mins for a bus, and since we should've had another 10 mins, I ran into the grocery story (Carrefour) and took money out of the ATM. Of course THAT was when the bus decided to show up, so we missed it. While waiting for the next bus, I got a caramel frappe. These coffee drinks are dangerously amazing goodness! I adore the coffee here actually, it is wayy better than dunkins! Once we got to the old city, we explored shops and had some lunch. Our main agenda was to see some museums, since in countries besides the US, antiquities are actuallyyy old (as opposed to only a few hundred years old, these items are at least a thousand years old). Here are some of many pictures (which I will be uploading tomorrow since it is almost 11pm here).

This is to give you an idea of how narrow the "sidewalks" are. They are tiny!! And cars go driving down these narrow streets at crazy speeds and you just have to balance and hope you don't fall into a huge crack or get nicked by the passing car.

These are some pics of the museum and artifcats.

This was the Ethnocgraphic Museum or Museum of Cypriot Artwork, everything was really cool and felt so old and had a lot of history behind why things were the way they were, etc.

Here's another example of how narrow the sidewalks are...this is actually not bad and the sidewalk isn't falling a part.

This is a traditional bedroom of early Cypriots. The parents would sleep in the bed and the 7 to 17 children would sleep on the floor or in the next room with the livestock.

These giant pots were used to hold wine, oils, water, and as storage. Apparently women who were about to give birth would go in these filled with warm water and herbs the day before up until the birth to cleanse the soul and body in preparation for childbirth.

These are traditional outfits of Cypriots from different villages. The white one on the right was a wedding dress.
