Just got back from the sunny, coastal city of Limassol. One thing I adore about Cyprus is the terrain. It really makes me feel like I am somewhere besides home...somewhere wonderful and exotic. I'm not sure how well the pictures I have posted capture this fact, but from first hand experience, it is remarkable. To get to Limassol, we took a bus to Old City or Solomoui Square, jumped off the bus and just caught the Limassol bus-the ride is about an hour and 45 minutes. The drive feels like it's 30 minutes though, the landscape is just continuosly beaufitul and interesting. Sometimes there are rolling green hills, agricultural areas, rugged mountains, sandy/rough hills, and it is always captivating. As always, I'm having a hard time posting the pictures, so just put up the ones I got (took over an hour to post these few), so will post more later. As we approached the sea, and I glimpsed the Mediterranean for the first time, I was like a child waiting to meet Santa. I was so excited I was almost in tears! I have never been to another sea besides the East Coast. Once we got to the city, we were quite disoriented and it took a while to get an idea of where we were. We aimlessly walked down a random street, which turned out to be this lovely square of music, restaraunts, smiling faces, and of course a medieval castle. To be continued...
Hey kid...it's been a long time since I could get on here. I am sorry to hear you have been sick again, but glad to know that you both are feeling better! I love the pictures, they are so amazing. I wish I could see all that in person. Your description of seeing the ocean there for the first time was so cute:)
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to send you a private message, so i'll just gush out some personal stuff here for the world to see! The kids and I miss you, and we sent a small package that should arrive around your birthday hopefully. It's not much just a few things. Ryan says hi, and hopes you are having fun and that he wishes he was there too, or just not here I guess:)
Anyway, glad to have this way of keeping track of you, and yes after 2-3 days we all start to get frantic! Looking forward to more posts...love & miss ya!
