Yesterday was my 21st birthday! It wasn't quite the spectacle that is typical in America, since it is legal to drink here when you turn 18. We were going to go to a bar, but decided that a more American place might feel more like a first legal drink. So, seven of us went to TGIF! I'm so glad we ended up going there, it is just a better place for celebrating, felt like home which I was missing on my birthday, and the menu was similar to the US menu, so when I ordered a drink it felt more legitimate. And the girls baked me a cake! It was so cute and you have to realize the effort that is here. First of all, all the cake mixes are in Greek, everything is super expensive (candles, cake pan, etc), and they even made the icing and made little almond hearts. It was also deliscious and I just really appreciated having a home made cake =)
OK, so I only cried the days before you left until now. I can not believe you are not here for such an important birthday, and you look absolutely stunning! Happy Birthday! We were at camp until last night otherwise I would have been here sooner. You're pictures are so fun to look through, and the ocean looks so different and tropical. I am so glad you are having fun, be extra careful, it is so scary here with all the news we are seeing about that area...ugh! I am so happy to see you had some people around you who cared on your birthday, that was so sweet for them to go to all that trouble.
